Yes, engineered boards are actually the smart choice for the Gold Coast. The layered construction is far more stable than solid timber through our humid summers, so boards resist cupping and gapping as moisture levels swing. We are ATFA members and install to Australian standards with proper acclimatisation.
Engineered flooring has a real hardwood wear layer bonded to a stable engineered core, so it looks and feels identical to solid timber underfoot but handles coastal humidity better, installs faster, and typically costs less. Once installed, most people cannot pick the difference, the surface is genuine timber.
Yes, both are on display at our showroom at 2/94-96 Kortum Dr, Burleigh Heads, open Mon–Fri 7:30am–4pm and Saturday 9am–1pm. Walk on full boards rather than squinting at a 10cm sample, and take samples home to check against your light and walls.
