Mineral Fibreboard Collection
MFB (Mineral Fibreboard) flooring uses a mineral-based core instead of laminate's timber fibreboard, making it more stable, quieter underfoot and better suited to Gold Coast humidity. Harmony Timber Floors stocks four MFB colours at $59.95/m² in our Burleigh Heads warehouse, supplied direct or installed by our licensed team.

Four HD timber looks on a mineral core. If you came in asking for laminate, this is the board we will put under your feet first.

Gold Coast summers are brutal on floors with timber-fibre cores: humidity creeps in, edges swell, joins peak. MFB's mineral core sidesteps the problem, it barely moves with moisture or heat, sits quiet and solid underfoot, and carries the same HD timber visuals as our hybrid Designer range.
It is a newer category most flooring shops on the coast still do not carry. Ours is on the floor at Kortum Dr, Burleigh Heads, walk on it next to laminate-priced alternatives and feel the difference in about four steps.

MFB stands for Mineral Fibreboard, a high-performance flooring built on a mineral-based core rather than the timber fibreboard used in laminate. The result is a floor that is more dimensionally stable, handles moisture and heat swings better, and feels solid and quiet underfoot. We stock it in Burleigh Heads.
Our MFB Collection is $59.95/m² supply-only (typical RRP $69.95/m²) across all four colours, Blackbutt HD, Spotted Gum HD, Sandstorm and European Beech. As with our whole range, that is direct-import pricing from our own warehouse, with installation quoted separately by our licensed team.
For Queensland conditions, generally yes. Laminate’s timber-fibre core can swell when moisture gets in; MFB’s mineral core is far more stable through humidity and temperature swings, which matters in a Gold Coast summer. If you were shopping for laminate, walk on MFB first, most people convert.
Living areas, bedrooms, hallways and upstairs spaces where you want a quiet, solid feel and a realistic timber look at a mid-range price. For genuinely wet zones like laundries we would steer you to hybrid instead, we sell both, so you get the honest answer either way.
